Every year, we visit the regions where our raw ingredients are grown so that we can find out more about the farmers‘ living and working conditions. In January, a group of us were in South Africa, visiting the Heiveld rooibos cooperative in Suid-Bokkeveld.
In 2001, the Heiveld cooperative became the first collective of farmers who would be described as „coloured“. Today, their grouping is highly symbolic. Together with the NGO Indigo, Lemonaid and ChariTea Foundation has funded a solar system that has provided the region with electricity for the first time.
